I go in and out with Liberty fabrics – I’m having an ‘in’ time at the moment and can’t get enough of them. Strangely enough I saw the red and pink Liberty fabric in all its bright and British glory in a Parisian haberdashery shop this summer and have been coveting it ever since. I had to have some. And I’ve acquired the same design in the purple colourway too – plus two new ditsy florals from the A/W 2014 range. They are just adorably pretty and have so far made these sweet lavender pillow stacks and a lavender cat. I’m about to finish a cloud, a mini lavender bird and a couple of phone cases. All will be coming with me tomorrow to the Made in Shropshire ‘Fair in the Square’ – it’s Shrewsbury Flower Show weekend too, so that means it’s either going to be much busier….or much quieter……such are the vagaries of markets, especially during summer holiday time. You just never can tell! Do pop along to The Square anyway, if you’re about – we’re there from 9am-5pm! Then I’ll be adding some pieces into my Etsy and Folksy shops next week….
The Whistling Cowgirl
Don’t Forget…It’s Woore!
A quick reminder about tomorrow’s Vintage Escapades at Woore Victory Hall, 10am-4pm. Vintage, handmade and a lovely tearoom! There are some fab exhibitors, so it’s going to be wonderful! See you there….I have lots of goodies to show you!
Through Urban Folk’s Window…
I took this quick snap of the window at Urban Folk….I like the slight reflection in the glass, making it all seem rather ethereal. Spot the cushion I just took in there – in this amazing, nicely weighted Japanese cotton fabric by Koko Seki. These bright pastels are just the thing for Spring and bang on interiors trend! There’s another inside the shop in a different colourway too.
Visit Lauren Hill’s lovely shop, Urban Folk, Grope Lane, Shrewsbury, Shropshire SY1. Open Monday to Saturday.
Is Spring here? Or am I being too optimistic?
I might be feeling the Spring thing a little early, but this warm sunshine sure makes me feel happy! I’ve started listing some lovely new products online here – https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/TheWhistlingCowgirl?ref=si_shop – and am busy sewing for my first Made in Shropshire market of the year, next Saturday in Ludlow, from 9am-5pm. It’s in the town centre, just off the main market in the square. I shall be bringing my new spring collection of fresh, flowery goodies to celebrate the start (we hope) of a lovely, sunny, warm year ahead!
Chronicle Christmas Market this Saturday!
I can’t believe that the last event of my craft year is coming up this Saturday. Where has the time gone? So, last chance to shop! This Saturday, the 21st December, in Shrewsbury Town Square, it’s the fabulous Chronicle Christmas Market, featuring around 50 stalls of lovely craft and gorgeous produce…When it starts to go dark it’s a lovely, twinkly and atmospheric place to be, so I hope to see you there! From 10am-6pm!

First up it’s Crafty Vintage at Bishops Castle on Saturday 2nd November, then Vintage Escapades on Sunday the 3rd. I’m trying to find the poster nestling about somewhere on my computer, but I can’t.
